Enumclaw Stage Race – Day 1

The brisk morning, sunshine, and good rest had the girls excited to begin the day with the time trial.  All the girls were confident going in and were happy with their races.  Gillian Ellsay lead our girls with a third place finish, behind first by only 12 seconds.

It was a really fun time trial and I’m very excited about being able to podium, especially as a 15 year old!  I’d like to thank all the sponsors and Cycling BC Staff that help make these trips possible.

The boys had a bit of a sleep in and joined us a little later in the morning.  The temperature was still cool and the sun was still shining!  A few of the boys had some nerves going into the TT, but they were all pretty stoked on their race.  Jordan Duncan led our boys with a fifth place finish.

After some food and a few hours of rest the team headed to the Crit.  Clara had a strong race and finished fifth, Gillian sixth and Brenna ninth – 3 top ten finishes!

The boys did well. They were active throughout the race and came away with some valuable lessons on pack position.   Tristan Hughes had a solid race and a solid sprint finish.

That was the fastest crit i’ve ever done! There were a lot of corners on the course and pack positioning and team work was important.  Thanks to all our sponsors and Cycling BC!

Now to refuel and rest up for the final stage tomorrow!
