Cycling BC Warm Weather Camp – Day 5

Today was was the best ride of the camp so far. The day started off with some sprints including practice with lead outs and some tactics. We have some FAST girls in BC!

After sprints we headed out for more miles and thanks to some good planning we managed to find ourselves with 30 km of fast cross tail winds back home. The Team BC girls rode a 45-50 km/hr echelon that would have made any Pro Tour Director Sportif proud to finish off the ride!

TT efforts coming up on Thursday!

Today was day 5 of our warm weather camp! We headed out to a nice quiet road for some sprint training. We started off with track style sprints then headed into mini races. After our little warm up we headed out to do a 60km loop around Lake Casistas. The loop took us up and up, and up some more around the lake. At the top we had a spectacular view of Lake Casistas! The downhill and tailwind back into town was much deserved! Thank you so much to all the sponsors and everyone who makes these kinds of opportunity’s happen!  -Gillian Ellsay

Another day, another hill. We started the ride off with some sprinting before continuing on for another 2 hours. During this time, the hills presented themselves. Neither hill was as steep as a previous ascent, but the avocado-picking break was greatly appreciated. The descending was a lot of fun, and some people’s need for speed was fulfilled while riding down the highway. Thanks to all the sponsors for making this trip possible. – Kia van der Vliet
