Road Warm Weather Training Camp: Day 1 & 2 update

After arriving in LA on February 17th and making the scenic drive to Agoura Hills, we settled in to our new training environment for the next week.  The warm weather and solid hills make for an ideal training environment.  With the warm temperature and rolling climbs its easy to see why the worlds best come here to train, that paired with the amazing group of riders and support staff I am looking forward to an amazing trip with even better training. Thanks to Cycling BC and all of the sponsors and supporters for making this trip possible

Every day the roads around Agoura hill leave me in a sense of amazement. The twists and turns of steep canyon descents make five hours feel like two, and the picturesque land scape makes me want to stop for selfies at lest twice a minute. With all the hills and lots of opportunities to bike all over them, my time in Cali has left me feeling stronger than ever before. Every day I’m excited to jump on my bike and discover what’s around the next corner! Thanks to Cycling BC and all their sponsors for putting on such a terrific camp and making training opportunities like this available for BC riders.

Thank you Cycling BC and all the generous sponsors for making this warm weather training camp possible. Being able to escape the unpredictable west coast Canadian winter for the rather predictable California winter makes finding the motivation to train hard much easier. It also allows us to focus less on preparing for wet cold conditions and more on training and recovering for the next day. I am learning lots from Richard and the other strong BC riders; taking every opportunity to develop as a road racer. Riding long miles in the sun is doing wonders for my morale in the middle of a long winter. With the great support and incredible training environment I hope to leave this camp stronger than ever.
