It has been another successful season for Cycling BC’s Premier Road Series. With Cycling BC’s commitment to creating higher-level road races in BC, this year’s series saw an increase in participation, new race courses, and great battles for the series titles.
The series consisted of seven of BC’s top road and criterium races. These races included Jeremy’s Roubaix, Race the Ridge, Cameron Law Cycling Classic and BC Superweek’s UBC Grand Prix and Tour de White Rock.
Cycling BC also wanted to be inclusive and offer a wide selection of race categories for the series. The series tracked results for a collection of men’s and women’s categories, including Elite, Master 40+, Junior and Category 3 riders.
”We were very pleased with the numbers for our races this year. Some races were up 50% over last year. This shows great commitment and support from our BC racers towards Cycling BC’s initiatives for improving racing in our Province,” commented Cycling BC Race Coordinator Barry Lyster.
There were very tight battles in most categories, with some of the series titles coming down to the series final at the Tour de White Rock criterium. Series winners will be invited to the Cycling BC Awards Dinner on October 3rd to receive their award.
