Cycling BC is pleased to announce that the RBC GranFondo Whistler will be hosting the BC Masters Road Championships on September 12.
This race is open to all Cycling BC UCI Master’s road license holders. There will be a separate start for the Master’s category just after the Giro men. Masters depart right behind the Giro Men at 6:43AM. All riders must know and understand the Giro Rules regarding Neutral service and being overtaken by the Women’s race. Registration is open.
All Master categories will be offered, and jersey presentations will be held at Whistler. Pro City Cycles will be sponsoring the prizing for the race.
The BC Master’s Road Championship was originally held back on May 30 in the Hatzic Valley, but the finish of the race had to be neutralized due to an incident at the finish line.
Registration is open now. Register here until 9am September 8, or in person at the Vancouver Convention Centre East (Sails)at Package pick up between 11am -8pm Sept. 11.
Important details:
- On-line registration cut-off date in Tuesday, September 8. There are a set number of spots for all Giro riders, so it may sell-out. Please check the GranFondo Whistler web site for registration details. Riders can also register in person at the Vancouver Convention Centre East (Sails)at Package pick up between 11am -8pm Sept. 11.
- This race is for Master Men only. You must hold a Cycling BC UCI Master race license Riders must be Cat 1, 2, 3. If you are not a licensed Master, you will not be able to change your license for this event. Any Cat 4 with Cat 3 up-grades pending can contact Diana at Cycling BC – diana@cyclingbc.net
- If any rider has already registered for the GranFondo Whistler, you must contact GranFondo Whistler to switch into the BC Master’s Championship race. There will be no charge for the transfer. There is no refund or credit available if you switch.
- The BC Master’s Road Championship will have a separate start and will follow the entire GranFondo course to Whistler.
- All riders are required to read the Giro race technical guide posted on the GranFondo web site.
- Masters depart right behind the Giro Men at 6:43AM. All riders must know and understand the Giro Rules regarding Neutral service and being overtaken by the Women’s race.
