Cycling BC is excited to announce the 2016 BC Premier Road Series. Launched in 2014 to bring top-tier road racing back to BC, the BC Premier Road Series gives BC’s top riders the opportunity to race at a high level close to home, with competitors from around the world.
This year’s series features six events, where Elite, Junior, and Master women and men will vie for series points and the coveted leader’s jersey. These races have become recognized fixtures for road racing in BC, drawing impressive fields of competitors both local and international, while showcasing BC athletes at their best.
The series begins on April 10th with Local Ride’s spring classic, Jeremy’s Roubaix, and continues into May with Maple Ridge’s biggest cycling event of the year, the Race the Ridge stage race, April 30th and May 1st. Competition will heat up in Victoria on June 4th, with the Robert Cameron Law Cycling Series’ Cheemo Perogies Cycling Classic.
BC Superweek will close out the series, with the PoCo Grand Prix on July 15th and the Tour de White Rock Choices Market Criterium as the series final on July 16th. “We are happy to be the host to two BC Premier Road Series events,” says BC Superweek Race Director Mark Ernsting. “Our goal is to provide a professional experience and allow all BC riders the chance to compete against the best riders in North America and in front of thousands of spectators in each community.”
Cycling BC would like to thank the race organizers for coming on board to be part of this series, and inspiring riders from around the province.
