We are excited to see registrations growing for the Hayman Classic BC Youth Road Cycling Championships this year, with youth coming from both BC and Alberta, and interest from clubs from the USA and even further afield.
Here are a few important updates which may affect your plans. Please check the event website closer to the date for any last-minute updates and the updated Technical Package.
TIME TRAIL DATE CHANGED. Friday, June 10th – 5pm
The time trial location and route remains unchanged from 2015. However, a change to the criterium course necessitated moving the TT to Friday evening. Event registration and package pickup is therefore at the TT start/finish. Registration start at 3:30pm and closes at 4:30pm. First riders (youngest first) begin at 5pm. There is no registration or package pickup in Penticton.
CRITERIUM DATE AND LOCATION CHANGED. Saturday, June 11th, 8am
Due to major changes and construction, the criterium course is moved to Riverside Road, Penticton. The Start/Finish is only 300m from the Bowmont Motel. See website for details.
U13 ROADS RACE COURSE CHANGE. Sunday, June 12th
U13 riders will register at the same location as all other categories (Southern Okanagan Secondary School). Their race route is modified from 2015, and will now start and finish just past the feed zone. Therefore U13 riders must make their way to their start just prior to their start. More details soon.
EVENT MOTELS
The two official event hotels are The Penticton Lakeside (location for Event Banquet) and the Bowmont Motel. The Bowmont is now full. For those wanting kitchenette units, try the next door location – The Riverside Motel.
BANQUET TICKETS
They can be purchased at time of registration for athletes and family members.
