Cycling BC caught up with Aidan Caves and Adam Reddy, two riders from the BC Track Team as they prepare for the Junior Pan American Track Championships in Guatemala.
Aidan Caves
“We’re only two weeks away from a training camp in Los Angeles leading into the Junior Pan American Track Championships in Guatemala.
Training has been very hard building up to this point, but you just gotta keep that voice in the back of your head when it gets tough and just say “power through it” and think of where all this hard work is going to take you!”
“I have also been taking all the help i can get from the people around me, like BC U23 rider Jacob Schwingboth (who’s been doing moto pacing sessions with me). He definitely makes the training hard and fun. I have also been getting help from my coach Jeff Ain who has guided me through the rough spots in training for this event and further down the road”.
“A BIG thank you to the Sponsors of Cycling BC for all their support that allows us to go train and go to all the races and to be at the top of our game (and the podiums) in Canada but also on the world stage.”
Adam Reddy
“I am getting ready for Junior Pan Am Track Champs to be held in Guatemala, with a pre-race camp in Los Angeles at the world-class Home Depot Velodrome. I started training seriously on the road last summer, and got really motivated after going to the Future Champions camp in Penticton last August, and also the Cycling BC track camps throughout the winter. It is amazing to be able to talk with riders like Svein Tuft, Will Routley, and Rob Britton and see what it takes to be a fulltime bike racer.”
“None of this would have been possible without the support from Cycling BC and their sponsors who have helped me every step of the way this past 12 months with camps, training and racing projects, coaching, and even an awesome Cunningham track bike!”
