We’ve enjoyed some of the best fall weather in history here in the Lower Mainland, but the arrival of the rain was inevitable! Sunday morning saw wet snow on the North Shore, heavy rain downtown and across the city making for, what some would call, great conditions for a Cyclo-cross race.
Mahon Park was were riders across BC raced in hopes of becoming the 2012 BC Provincial Cyclo-cross Champion. The rain proved to be a challenging factor as the grass sections became mud sections, challenging the riders that much more in the off-camber turns. The popular term “ride don’t slide” couldn’t not be avoided this week-end, all thanks to mother nature and the jump into the rain season!
Laps times ranged from 6.45 mins to 7.5 mins! Congratulations to our Provincial Champions, wear your jersey with pride!
