It’s back and bigger than ever! Sunday August 10th 2014 marks the return of the Cardiac Classic XC Mountain Bike Race on Burnaby Mountain, home to UniverCity. Mighty Riders and West Coast Cycling are excited to announce this year’s event will play host to the Provincial XC Mountain Bike Championships supported by Cycling BC. All riders are welcome to attend the event and race alongside some of the best racers in the province. There will be citizen challenge categories for different age groups and youth categories too. Festivities atop the mountain will also include a Nesters Market-sponsored BBQ and complimentary ‘little rippers’ kids race. To ensure participation from all cyclists the organizers will be offering complimentary single day licenses in an effort to increase participation within the sport of XC mountain biking. Over 200 participants are expected to do battle on some iconic Burnaby Mountain trails like Nicoles, Mels and the infamous Cardiac climb.
