Some of BC’s fastest up and coming XC racers hit the trails of Squamish for JABR, part of the Cycling BC Youth XC series. 13 riders raced the challenging course in the final race of a very successful first year youth mountain bike series.
Rhys Verner, Team Squamish took the U19 win on Saturday, and also locked up the overall U19 series title. Seth Vanvarseveld, in his first series race, took first place in the U17 category while his brother Conrad won the U15 race. Shane Patterson ended up third on the day for U17 boys, but took the series win. Cameron Handford, Different Bikes was our overall U15 series winner.
Emily Handford, Different Bikes road another strong race to keep her undefeated winning streak alive and to win the U17 race and the series title. Kelsey MacDonald, Local Ride Racing, was the U19 series winner while Laura Holt took the U15 girl’s title.
Cycling BC would like to thank the Test of Metal Group of Races for supporting this race series. We look forward to an even bigger event for 2015.
