September 6th, as the official community partner of the RBC GranFondo Whistler, Cycling BC joined thousands of cyclists for a weekend of adventure. Starting at the VeloSpoke Expo at the Vancouver Convention Centre we showcased our iRide Schools and Community program to thousands of riders as they picked up their rider packages. Just one day later in the beautiful sunshine at Whistler Olympic Plaza we were there to welcome the riders and congratulate them on their achievements.
In a special awards ceremony held in the Whistler Olympic Plaza, RBC and GranFondo Canada publicly showcased their support for our youth programs with a cheque for $25,000. Cycling BC wants to sincerely thank RBC for this $25,000 donation. We also want to thank GranFondo Canada for their support and our new community partnership which will allow us to work together to raise awareness and funds for Cycling BC programs.
