Jay Lamoureux has been riding bikes his whole life starting with bike-camping trips with his dad when he was a kid. He would go on to join local cycling clubs in his hometown of Victoria, BC, and create a track for himself on a pathway to the provincial and the national teams.
Jay has represented Canada on the national track cycling team at World Cups, World Championships, the Pan Am Games, the Commonwealth Games, and most recently at the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics where he and the Canadian Men’s Track Pursuit team put on a historic performance by setting a new national record and finishing 5th overall – Canada’s best result in the event in 89 years.
Back from his Olympics debut, Jay joins us on our podcast as he reflects on his Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games experience and the years of hard work and the community support it took to help him get there.
