Cycling BC invites everyone between the ages of 8 and 15 to participate in the FREE “Race-tastic” session at the Canadian Cyclo-cross Championships on Saturday, November 17 2012. This 75 MIN session is designed to teach basic bike handling skills and racing safety to young cyclists that are just learning how to ride a bike. This session is open to anyone between the ages of 8 and 15. Riders will be guided through a fun and exciting session that includes helmet safety tips and bike handling skills. Riders will be able to test what they’ve learned by making their way through a challenging obstacle courses and race a part of the Canadian Championship course
When: Saturday, November 17th
Cost: FREE
Registration: 11:15-11:45 **please email Erich Harvey events@cyclingbc.net to pre-register for the session. Include: Name and email address. All youth will be required to sign a waiver before starting the session.
Session: 12noon-1:30pm
Where: South Surrey Athletic Park, 14600 20 Avenue, Surrey, British Columbia– Dirt Jump Area Look for the Tim Hortons tape and tent. (map to be added)
Each rider will get a hot chocolate and timbits provided by Tim Horton’s Surrey
Please bring your own bike and helmet. Bikes and helmets can be provided to riders requesting in advance, please email Erich Harvey at events@cyclingbc.net to reserve a bike and helmet. If you have a bike helmet or bike please bring to event and a mountain bike is preferable.
