Upon notice from the organizer, Cycling BC would like to confirm that the BC Cup downhill mountain bike race at Sun Peaks scheduled on September 12, 2021, has been cancelled and will return in 2022. The organizers, with support from Cycling BC, have determined that hosting the BC Cup race at Sun Peaks this year is not going to be feasible.
While the BC government is forging ahead with BC’s Restart Plan, now in Step 3 and scheduled to move to Step 4 on September 7th at the earliest, Cycling BC recognizes and respects that everyone, including event organizers and host establishments, are moving forward at their own pace.
Three out of the eight original 2021 BC Cup Downhill races have been cancelled including Whistler, Silverstar, and Sun Peaks. Cycling BC looks forward to seeing these races return in 2022.
