Cycling BC’s downhill mountain bike training camp takes flight in Whistler, BC, in less than one week. The camp is designed specifically for U15/U17 riders to be matched up and mentored by U19/Elite riders and will take place from July 3rd to July 7th at Whistler’s world-renowned bike park.
The camp gives riders who are not attending the BC Cup races at Big White on July 3rd or Silverstar on July 9th an opportunity to ride and practice on a closed course and receive expert instruction from Cycling BC’s Provincial Head Coach, Joel Harwood. The older U19/Elite riders will train in the morning on the recently completed 1199 track in Whistler’s Creekside and then spend time mentoring the U15/U17 riders during their camp in the afternoon.
Limited to a small number of participants, the camp allows for more personalised instruction from both coaches and mentors.
“I am looking forward to giving our young riders an unparalleled experience training on Whistler’s world-class trails,” says Joel Harwood, Provincial Coach at Cycling BC. “Our goal is to inspire the next generation of downhill mountain bikers by connecting them to the current generation of the sport’s Elite riders.”
Enrolment for the Whistler DH camp is limited and spots are still available, but only for a short time. Registration closes on Friday, June 30th.
