In 2016, the Prospera Valley Fondo continued their support of Cycling BC’s iRide program with a $5,000 donation. In turn, iRide helped out at the annual kids race during the Saturday packet pickup event. iRide coordinator, Ben Chaddock, worked with the amazing event volunteers to create a fabulous course, complete with iRide stunts. Riders tackled the course in 3 waves and played many iRide games in the hours that followed the morning race. The Devo Cycling team also joined Ben for a few challenges after their pre-fondo warmup ride out to packet pickup.
“Thank you for your continued support! The Prospera Valley Fondo donation helps the iRide program run in-school events in the Langley area, an area in which iRide visited over 5 schools in the spring of 2016” said Ben.
Other upcoming events include a similar iRide Jam, complete with skills sessions and a kids race at the upcoming Tour de Victoria. As a special treat, iRide participants will be able to practice their skills on the lawn of the BC Parliament Buildings before racing around the fun and small side-streets of the park in the afternoon race.
