Hi! We are Joelle, Nathan, Luke and Soloman and we are excited to offer a new youth cycling program in Invermere this July! We are passionate about our community, our mountains and riding bikes with people of all ages! Let’s go riding!
Our new program offers a fun, safe and memorable community after-school program available to local participants aged 6-12 with an iRide skill level of 1-4. As recipients of a Cycling BC iRide Development Grant with support from the Columbia Basin Trust “Basin PLAYS” Initiative, my team of leaders and I have undergone NCCP-training with Cycling BC to help us utilize both the iRide skills and Sprockids skills curriculum and help your child build confidence, foster friendships and develop beginner and intermediate bicycle skills. Our coaching team includes Nathan Lamb-Yorski, Luke Patridge and Soloman Kirk.
Our sessions plan to stay close to town, utilizing the pump track, easy green trails and recreational parks to practice skills. In the future, as riders progress through Cycling BC skill ability levels, we would like to create more programs that help young riders experience our amazing local trails.
All sessions are covered by Cycling BC’s insurance policy with Jones Brown.
This learn-to-ride program covers a variety of topics that involve all aspects of riding. Participants will learn riding techniques such as uphill, downhill, tight turns, braking, gearing, and how to properly adjust their bike to fit themselves.
If your child enjoys their iRide Sprockids experience, perhaps we’ll see you one of Cycling BC’s Youth Clubs!
