This course will train coaches who would like to work with their local cycling club or with Cycling BC’s iRide program.

 

Basic Cycling Skills / iRide Practicum

This workshop helps coaches learn how to teach basic cycling skills. Workshop material covers skill analysis, observation, and corrective feedback – all vital skills for coaches of both new and experienced cyclists looking to improve. This special event will not only teach new coaches the full 8-week NCCP skills curriculum but share the beta-copy of the iRide Book of Games. This addendum material is designed to help new coaches teach the skills in a fun and engaging manner.

The Ready to Race! coaching stream is structured as follows: Learn More

  • Training Basics (2-day course)
  • Basic Cycling Skills (1-day course)
  • Training to Race (2-day course)
  • Skills & Tactics (1-day course – complete 2 of 4 available disciplines (Road, Track, MTB, BMX)
  • Ethical Decisions (Online Questionnaire)
  • Portfolio (Submit Online)
  • On-Site Evaluation (1-day event)
