The PoCo Grand Prix is a criterium bike race which is part of BC Superweek and features Pro/Am male and female cyclists from around the world competing for their spot on the podium.
“The PoCo Grand Prix will be Port Coquitlam’s chance to shine as it exposes our city to spectators and cycling fans from Canada and around the world,” said Port Coquitlam Mayor Greg Moore. “This will be a great opportunity to show off our amenities, natural beauty, charming downtown and amazing community spirit, and we’re also looking forward to the economic spinoffs that BC Superweek will bring to our city and our local businesses.”
The race will feature a mass start and a 1.3-kilometre circuit that cyclists will navigate for 40-65 laps. Male and female cyclists will whiz by about every minute, making for an exciting spectator experience. The day will also include races for children and youth, and a Corporate Challenge relay race.
Held the second week of July each year, the BC Superweek race series features more than $120,000 in prize money, with eight races over nine days. The PoCo Grand Prix will be held on the second day of the series, joining the Tour de Delta, Global Relay Gastown Grand Prix, Giro di Burnaby p/b Appia Development, and Beverley by Cressey presents Tour de White Rock.
Our women’s pro event will feature the top female pros from around the world sprinting it out for their spot on the podium.
Featuring some of the top male riders in the sport, don’t miss our men’s pro race for some of the most exciting and fast paced cycle racing in the world.
Bring the kids out to the PoCo Grand Prix to ride out on the course like the pros! Open to children aged 6 to 12 years.
A chance for the pros of tomorrow to rub shoulders with the pros of today! Open to all young riders aged 12-16.
The Cat 3/4 race is great opportunity for local and developing riders, open to all Category 3/4 males and females.
Points for Masters racers will be awarded only for those riders registered in the Cat 3/4 & Master race. Master riders choosing to race the Pro 1/2 race will not receive series points in the Master category.
A corporate challenge relay race for corporate riders who want to get out on our closed circuit 1.3km course.

The PoCo Grand Prix is part of the BC Premier Road Series, which features some of BC‘s top cycling events.
Points are calculated from the results of each race and riders are ranked in the series standings. Series leaders will be presented with a leader jersey to wear at the next series race. Overall series winners will be presented with their award at the final race in the series, Tour de White Rock Choices Market Criterium.
