Downhill Training Camp Recap

This weekend saw the second round of fitness testing for the Cycling BC downhill athletes.  Once again we headed to RIM Cycling Studio in Squamish as well as Challenge by Choice for the AMRAP tests.  Sunday was a wet and wild adventure on the local Squamish downhill trails.

Almost all of the athletes saw improvements in both the on- and off-bike test scores this month. This is amazing considering they have only had four weeks to implement their new plans.

After the testing at RIM, we had a snack and headed over to Challenge by Choice for some AMRAP testing.  This time around was a bit smoother with athletes working together to make for an efficient day of pushing our fitness.

For day two, it was time for some DH action. Of course for the indoor testing we had blue skies and sun,  but when it was time to grab the bikes, the sky opened up with some rain.  The athletes knew we had work to do–and work we did.  The athletes were keen to keep moving, even squeezing in some drills on the final lap.

The season is approaching fast and we are excited to be working with such a great group of young athletes. A  big thank you to all of the team sponsors, supporters and funders, and as always a special thanks to parents for assisting with shuttles.
