BC Track Riders Gear Up for National Track Champs

This week BC’s best headed east to take on the rest of the Country at the 2016 Junior and Youth National Championships at the Mattamy National Cycling Centre in Milton, ON.  BC will have at least one athlete or team represented in every event over the course of the weekend, making this an event not to be missed.  Athletes have spent the last few days getting acquainted with the track, as many of them have never ridden a 250 m track.

“The commitment and dedication that our provincial clubs have put into their youth programs is outstanding.  We have 15 athletes ranging in ages from 15-18 representing BC out here.  We’re so proud of the clubs, coaches and supporters for creating such an inclusive environment within their clubs for youth to get involved and excited for racing.”

-Tara Mowat, Cycling BC High Performance Coordinator

Tomorrow the racing kicks off with Team Sprint and Team Pursuit events.  For more information including start lists, results and LIVE streaming click here.
