Tristen Chernove Claims Silver in Rio

Tristen Chernove of Cranbrook, BC, has won Canada’s second medal of the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games. Chernove will be brining home silver in the men’s C2 300-meter individual pursuit. Liang Guihau of China, who set a new Paralympic in qualifiers earlier in the day, pulled ahead of Chernove in the last half of the race to claim gold.

Chernove will be competing Saturday in the men’s 1000 m time trial on the track. Next week, he will move to the road cycling events, competing in the time trial and road race. For Chernove’s full paralympic schedule in Rio, click here. To watch events live, visit CBC’s online streaming here.
