Cycling BC would like to thank everybody who attended the Cycling BC Townhall Meeting this past Saturday, March 6, 2021. For those who were not able to attend, we have posted the audio-only recording of the meeting below.
In summary,
- viaSport is working with the BC government for a Return to Sport (phase 2.5), focused on youth & team sports
- very likely that a Return to Sport for cycling will be similar to last spring/summer where adult group rides were allowed with limits on size and adhering to physical distancing requirement; competition will likely start with time-trial style events
- clubs allowing (non-members participants) to try a group ride must have the participant sign a waiver every time they try a ride
- CycleClub app is available for clubs that are looking for a club ride scheduling technology solution
- Cycling Canada strategic plan update
- Cycling BC Virtual Race Series is being organized for the community in the absence of in-real-life racing at the moment
